Moonlighters is Blowsoc’s auditioned Big Band which gives all students the chance to play music from a variety of styles. Moonlighters is a highly popular and well-known ensemble within the university, playing regularly at gigs, weddings, balls and socials. They play a range of styles from traditional jazz ballads to funk music, all of the music is guaranteed to make you want to dance! Although the ensemble is committed to a high standard of playing with lots of concerts, we also have regular socials and opportunities to see other jazz bands. This year, a lot of the ensemble has graduated which leads the opportunity for new players to join! If you would like to audition for this amazing ensemble, please sign up at the Welcome Fair.

Moonlighters ManagerHi, I’m Lucy (she/her) and I am the Manager for the Moonlighters Big Band this year. I’m a second year Music student and am a first study Jazz Vocalist. I’m really excited to be working with Moons and Blowsoc this year and can’t wait to play some absolute tunes with some of the best players :))

Moonlighters Musical Director, Wind Orchestra Assistant ConductorHello! I’m Ella (She/Her) and I am the Moon’s Musical Director this year, as well as the Wind Orchestra Assistant Conductor. I am doing an MRes in Music Composition and I play the trumpet. I am looking forward to playing some absolute tunes with Blowsoc this year!
